Why use the name Skygazer?

Most of my life I have been fascinated with the night sky. As a boy, the stars captivated me with their beautiful chaos.  I earnestly tried to make sense of them in their clumpy randomness. In time I learned to recognize simple patterns, then use them as guideposts to find more complex patterns and other interesting objects. I have come to regard the constellations as familiar companions, steadfastly  accompanying me wherever I go in the world.

I see Systems Engineering as a way of recognizing patterns in the beautiful chaos of complex system development. These engineering patterns can become signposts, helping to highlight and reveal other patterns and provoking meaningful questions. They provide both a way of sharing an overall system understanding, and for recognizing the direction that a system development may be leading. System modeling is a powerful tool for codifying these patterns so that they can be meaningfully and consistently shared with others.
