Where I Teach

In addition to mentoring and coaching clients through Skygazer Consulting, I teach MBSE/SysML classes in several venues.

I teach CSE-40981 Systems Engineering with OMG SysML™ as an asynchronous online course twice a year.  This full semester  course focuses on the practical application of SysML using a student-selected modeling tool on a student-selected project.  It emphasizes hands-on modeling, with frequent detailed instructor critiques of student models.

I occasionally co-instruct 3-day short courses combining SysML 101 and SysML 201.  These are usually taught at an organization’s own facilities to groups of 20 students.  They focus on understanding SysML fundamentals and applying them to a system model using the NoMagic MagicDraw tool and SysML plug-in.

You can find my Georgia Tech instructor profile here (after my updated employment onboarding is complete).

I teach the SYS521 Model Based Systems Engineering full-semester online class.  The class was created by my friend and co-author Sanford Friedenthal.  It conveys the basic concepts of SysML and then applies those concepts within the framework of the Object Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM).  This course utilizes the NoMagic Cameo Systems Modeler tool.
